An attorney by background, Ms. Murray Brown is an experienced legal, ethics, compliance, and governance professional. She joined Mr. Shanafelt’s team at Athene shortly after launch and was a key contributor to the implementation of its ethics, compliance, and corporate governance program. Ms. Murray Brown brings a wealth of compliance experience, including the various requirements for insurers operating under multi jurisdictional regimes, as well as a fiduciary and governance background serving as an independent non executive director and risk committee
member in the insurance sector.

In 2012 she founded Concordance Ltd., a compliance consultancy firm serving regulated entities in Bermuda. Prior to that she served as General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer of a global fund administration company, CACEIS Investor Services, N.A. (now an SS&C company). At CACEIS, she chaired the risk and compliance committee and led a multi jurisdictional team of attorneys, trust administrators and company secretaries assisting clients with fund formation and structuring, and regulatory compliance needs, including KYC/AML/CDD. She received her law degree from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles and Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. She is a member of the California Bar. She is also a member of the public policy committee of the Aids Healthcare Foundation, a global nonprofit organization providing high quality healthcare and other services to those in need.
